Energy Capital is offering climate innovators and entrepreneurs the chance to pitch solutions to a West Midlands’ energy systems challenge, with the two most promising solutions receiving a prize of €10,000 each.
Energy Capital is a cluster initiative that aims to make the West Midlands one of the most attractive locations in the world to build companies capable of driving the global transition to smart, low-carbon energy systems. Stimulating demand for innovation is part of the cluster project, and as such, we are delighted to host the very first Energy Capital Innovation Challenge.
The world is moving towards a transactive energy model, where renewable, distributed energy generators will meet the needs of customers whose demand is becoming increasingly flexible. To advance the West Midlands down this path more quickly, we invite participants to propose innovative products and solutions to engage customers and users as active participants in the West Midlands regional energy system.
Who can participate?
The Energy Capital Innovation Challenge aims to match local demand for low-carbon, smart energy solutions with new ideas from start-ups, entrepreneurs, research organisations and innovators – from the UK and beyond.
If you have a disruptive, innovative or visionary solution to this year’s challenge then you qualify to participate and stand a chance of winning one of two €10,000 cash prizes.
