Community Energy Birmingham (CEB) is looking to grow its existing portfolio of renewable energy generation on community buildings. We are launching a new share offer in November 2018. Two launch events are planned where potential investors can meet the team and find out more.

Tues 30 Oct at 6.00 pm at Birmingham Friends of the Earth, The Warehouse, 54-57  Allison Street, Birmingham B5 5TH

Thurs 1 Nov, 7.00 pm at Moseley Exchange, 145 Alcester Road, Moseley B13 8JP

CEB operates six solar PV systems in Birmingham generating 57,000 kWh of clean energy per year and saving 30 tonnes of carbon.  The systems are funded by CEB and installed on community buildings where the occupants receive the benefit of the clean energy and reduced rate electricity.  CEB’s private investors are drawn entirely from the community of Birmingham; in return for their shares investors receive 4% interest, with the knowledge their money is being used for ethical, local purposes.

We have identified the potential for new community projects to benefit from the final stages of the government’s solar PV Feed-in-Tariff deployment, prior to its end on 31 Mar 2019. We aim to develop one further project for installation in Winter 2018/19.  The new installation has a peak capacity of 50kw, making it our largest solar roof to date, and the total investment opportunity is £44,000.

To qualify, investors should reside or work in Birmingham.  The minimum investment is £250 and an installment plan is available. Further details on our website including an application form for purchasing shares. You can request a copy of the full Share Offer document there too.
